Martin Alexander Redston – 1949 – 2022
Martin Alexander Redston BSc, CEng, MICE was a Chartered Civil Engineer who was admitted to the Institution of Civil Engineers in 1977. Since Chartership he acted as a Consultant Engineer, commencing his career at a Local Authority working on a variety of refurbishment schemes and inspecting various building defects alongside Local Authority Surveyors.
Martin practised at a senior level for more than thirty years, specialising in building refurbishment as a team leader at two national engineering firms before founding his own practice in 1993.
Martin was diagnosed with mesothelioma, an asbestos based cancer, early in 2021. Despite treatment the cancer started spreading aggressively towards the end of 2021 and he very sadly passed away during the evening of Wednesday 2nd February at home with his family.
